About this puzzle
Renaissance Landscape is a free online jigsaw puzzle you can play straight in your browser, at any size from 12 to 500 pieces. Drag a piece near where it belongs and it snaps into place; joined pieces then move together as one. Your progress saves on this device, so you can close the tab and carry on later — and every finish earns points towards your next level and grows something in My Garden.

How to solve it
Treat a figure painting as two puzzles with different rules. The lit subject — a face, a white collar, a bright sleeve — goes by recognition. The dark ground around it goes by tone and brushstroke alone, so turn the piece count down if those passages feel like guesswork, and zoom right in: you can see individual strokes. Folk art and ornament are the reverse — busy everywhere, so sort by pattern rather than by colour.
