How to solve it

In a watercolour, the paper shows through and colours bleed into each other, so look for the hard edges where a wash dried — they cross pieces and line up neatly. In a sketch, follow the drawn lines. Large areas of plain paper are the hard part; there, the faint texture of the paper is your only clue.
